Dagenham & Redbridge manager Wayne Burnett isn’t expecting any new arrivals on the final day of the January transfer window, though did reveal a bid had been rejected for a player on his radar.
Last week Burnett boosted his squad with the loan signing of striker Luke Norris and on Wednesday extended midfielder Lawson D’Ath’s stay at Victoria Road until the end of the season.
But that seems to be his last bit of business in January after having a bid rejected for a player.
“I don’t expect to do anything before the end of the day,” said Burnett.
“We did try to acquire a player on a permanent transfer and did put a bid in for that player, but the club involved rejected it and we opted not to pursue it any further.”
He added: “We managed to do the deal for Lawson and that was some good business. We spoke with Lawson and he was keen to stay with us and I’d like to thank Reading for helping us keep him at the club.”
If Burnett did want to bolster his squad he would only have to wait until February 8, when the loan transfer window re-opens.
