Dagenham & Redbridge will play their part in Essex FA’s ‘Respect Week’ when they host Portsmouth at Victoria Road on Saturday.
Key features of the FA’s Respect programme have, and will continue to be highlighted as teams from across the county have taken part in their own ‘Respect Matches’ from March 5 until Saturday, culminating in Daggers big home match against Pompey.
On the day, football freestyler Colin Neil will keep spectators entertained with his ball-juggling skills, while local junior club Dagenham United will form a ‘guard of honour’ as the players enter the pitch.
On holding the event, Daggers’ managing director, Steve Thompson MBE, said: “We are very pleased to be working with the Essex County FA on this important campaign.
“The Respect agenda is something we fully support, with our Community Trust delivering Respect lessons to over 1,200 schoolchildren each year.”
Also, Saturday’s game against Pompey will kick off at 3.07pm in a mark of remembrance for those that lost their lives in the Hillsborough disaster 25 years ago.
