League Two preview: Wycombe Wanderers v Dagenham & Redbridge

Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still knows his side will be in for a challenge if their game goes ahead at Wycombe Wanderers tomorrow.

The Daggers have won two of the last three matches and go into the match just three points outside the play-offs, but they’ll have to do without the services of midfielder Michael Spillane.

Spillane has left Victoria Road for League Two rivals Southend United on a free transfer yesterday, but other than his absence there are no new injury concerns for Still.

But the Daggers chief is warning that Wycombe cannot be underestimated and have improved under Gareth Ainsworth since the 3-0 win for Still’s side in September at Victoria Road.

“We are aware of the threat they pose,” said Still. “They have improved an awful lot since we last played them.

“But we are aware a win for us could put us on the same number of points as those in the play-offs, This league is the tightest I have ever known and I am not surprised by that.

“On any day one club can beat the next but we have to be wary of the threat that Wycombe pose under Gareth Ainsworth.”

In the Chairboys team is former Dagger Stuart Lewis, and if he plays tomorrow he is expected to make his 100th appearance since leaving Victoria Road for Adams Park.

While confirming the departure of Spillane yesterday, Daggers did get one bit of business done in what was expected to be a busy week.

Midfielder Jake Caprice extended his loan with the club until February 9 from Championship side Blackpool, despite not making a start in his previous two months at the club.

Some League Two games have already fallen foul to the weather, but the clash is still set to go ahead with no pitch inspection planned, with Adams Park benefiting from undersoil heating.
