Daggers boss Wayne Burnett has started to sit down with the players whose contract runs out at the end of the season – but nothing has been decided on their futures.
At the top of that list is striker Zavon Hines, who has enjoyed a good start to life at the club having signed a one-year deal at the start of the season.
But the list of players who are out of contract also include both goalkeepers Chris Lewington and Jordan Seabright, defenders Gavin Hoyte and Ian Gayle, and strikers Bradley Goldberg, Alex Osborn, Josh Scott and Chris Dickson.
And while discussions are underway with some of those players, nothing has been sorted out yet, with Burnett keen to find out first if the players actually want to be at the club.
“There are a few people out of contract the likes of Hoyte, Hines, Scott, Lewington, but we’ll look but a lot depends on whether they want to stay,” said Burnett.
“If they don’t want to stay then that kills the conversation straight away. If they don’t want to stay we don’t want them here. We want players that want to be here. “They all appear to be happy, and are playing with smiles on their faces because they enjoy being here playing the football that we are playing.
“I have sat down with one or two of them and had a chat. Nothing has been decided or finalised yet but we are still in discussions.”
