The 19-year-old has netted three times for the Reading under-21 team this season and has also played internationally for England under-19s.

Samuel is available for selection for the home game against Fleetwood Town tomorrow and Burnett is glad to get him to Victoria Road after a failed attempt last season.

“He’s highly thought of at Reading, and they’ve been kind to us to help us out from a financial point of view again,” said Burnett.

“He’s a goalscorer and an England international and we are expecting big things from him. I’ve watched him on numerous occasions and he is a very good footballer.

“He is available for selection and it will strengthen our attacking options, he is a clever footballer who can play a number of positions.”
