Manager John Still talks transfer news

Dagenham & Redbridge are poised to extend Ahmed Abdulla’s loan spell from West Ham, while team-mate Eoin Wearen has returned to Upton Park – but manager John Still expects no further transfer activity today.
Abdulla has started six matches since moving to Victoria Road, but Wearen has found opportunities more difficult to come by with three appearances from the bench, since making his senior debut against Millwall in the FA Cup.
With fellow central midfielders Peter Gain, Kevin Maher and Luke Howell all on their way back from injury though, Still will wait and assess the full extent of the trio’s respective situations before making his final decision.
“I don’t think there will be anything today, but possibly when the loan window opens next week,” he said.
“Eoin has gone back, but Ahmed, we may pursue that.
“We have had talks with West Ham, so it’s a possibility. He’s happy to do it, it’s just a case of seeing how long the ones that are out are going to be out for.
“Luke Howell started training this week, but whether it’s two weeks or three or four weeks before he’s available, we’ll have to see.
“Rob Edmans will play in the reserves today, but he needs three of four games, so there is the possibility of a loan move for him. It’s a difficult one for us because of the amount of players we have injured.
“We can’t throw them all in at once and how else can I give him the games that he needs?”
