Olivier Giroud says he was attracted to Arsenal by the physical challenge of playing in the Premier League.
The Frenchman arrived at the Emirates from Montpellier during the summer and is starting to find his feet in England, with four goals in his last two games and 13 overall.
Giroud relishes the physicality and intensity of English football and says he is enjoying his football at Arsenal.
“That’s why I chose this country,” he said. “There is more intensity, it’s more physical and you have to be ready in an athletic way.
“I like it but I like to pass and play one-twos with my team-mates like Lukas, Santi, Theo and Tomas.
“I like to play with these guys and there is a good understanding between us. I feel very nice in the game.
“I had a difficult couple of weeks. I didn’t play a lot so I had to keep confident and keep going. It’s important to me to score two times in both matches.”
Transfer news: Arsene Wenger wants to add goals to his Arsenal side and has been tipped for a spending spree in the summer transfer market after they beat north London rivals Tottenham to fourth spot in the Premier League yesterday.
