Audiences can go on a trip down memory lane back to the big band era at Queen’s Theatre.

The London Swing Orchestra will be at the theatre in Billet Lane, Hornchurch on Sunday May 12.

The concert features the music of Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong, Bobby Darrin, Nat King Cole and Louis Prima.

Graham Dalby the orchestra leader since 1985 and has taken his music as far afield as Shanghai and Hong Kong. A truly international orchestra having performed worldwide at festivals and historic occasions such as The Hong Kong Handover, they have appeared on stage with names such as Annie Lennox (Rome) Gloria Gaynor (Berlin) Roger Waters and the RPO (Royal Albert Hall) and Natalie Cole (Scotland).

The orchestra has a wide appeal to many generations having played at the 90th and 100th Birthdays of H.M. The Queen Mother, The 75th Birthday of Valentino in Rome and the 21st Birthday of the present Duchess of Cambridge.

They perform regularly for BBC Radio and Television and performed the title music for BBC’s Mrs Bradley Murder Mysteries with Dame Diana Rigg. Recent landmarks include a Royal Gala to mark the 200th Anniversary of Frederick Chopin at The London Guildhall and a Twenties event at ‘Downton Abbey’ (Highclere Castle).

Tickets are £18 from the box office on 01708 443333 or book online at www.queens-theatre.co.uk.
