A Romford-born country and western star is celebrating this week after her debut single debuted at an impressive 8th in the genre’s dedicated iTunes chart on Friday.

Binky, who now lives in Brentwood, is a 24-year-old musician who lists acts such as Stevie Nicks and Carrie Underwood amongst her musical influences and has been performing since the age of 15.

Her debut single, Fireflies, broke into the UK iTunes country and western chart’s top 10 after being on sale for just 24 hours,

The singer describes the new single as “an up-tempo, anthemic sing along – a joyous slice of summer-filled optimism”.

She said: “My journey has been a whirl wind from the start and has been so much more than I ever thought it would be.

“I have been given the chance of a life time and I can’t express how blessed I feel.

“This started as a seemingly impossible dream, that dream is now slowly feeling as though it could come true. I can see my goal peering through the clouds.

“Wherever my future is destined, I will never forget this journey and the people I have met along the way, no matter what lies at the end of the road”.

Having established herself as a presenter on Sky TV’s The Smith & Rogers Country show, Binky is a well-known face within the British Country scene.

With each show featuring a performance by its presenter, Binky’s strength as a performer was immediately evident to all viewers, while the diversity of material performed showed she was a talent on the brink of bigger successes.

Following her on-screen success, Binky re-evaluated her ambitions and decided to focus her energies on her true passion - music.

Having teamed up with an impressive array of songwriters, Binky has crafted a sound that represents all facets of her musical interests.

While best described as country pop, even as she approaches her debut single, it is clear that Binky is much more than just British country’s next big name.

Fireflies is now available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music, and to purchase on iTunes.
