Drum in the sun

Fresh (or not so fresh, probably) from their weekend excursion to Amsterdam in February, Romford drum and bass promoters Innovation host another of their "In The Sun" trips to Spain at the end of June.

A spokesman told Club Mix: "Innovation In The Sun returns to the stunning resort of Lloret de Mar near Barcelona for its third season of drum and bass madness.

"This now well-established event is recognised as one of Spain's main dance festivals and has emerged as one of Europe's most talked about and eagerly-awaited clubbing holidays.

"The event will be held across three venues at the Colossus club complex and will include showcases from the likes of Full Cycle, Moondance, Breakbeat Kaos and Doa, Charge Recordings, Liquid V and BBC 1Xtra.''

Those are bold statements indeed, but then that's a bold line-up too, and the ticket sales for Innovation parties and events usually speak for themselves. So hurry while stocks last!

As you would expect, the line-up is an absolute stormer - getting the Full Cycle crew on board is always a major coup, and its head honcho Roni Size naturally headlines.

Then it's an A - Z of drum and bass heavyweights with Hornchurch's Ram Records DJ/producer/record label boss and promoter Andy C joined by the likes of Hype, Mampi Swift, Micky Finn, Friction, Dillinja, Adam F, Brockie, Grooverider, Nicky Blackmarket, etc, etc.

MCs will include MC Connection duo Skibadee and Shabba, and there's a special collaboration with old skool/hardcore promoters Moondance, which features DJ sets by our good friend Rob Blake - a former Club Mix contributor - plus Slipmatt, Ratpack, Devious D and Ellis D.

So what's the plan, then? Well, you book your own flights from the likes of www.easyjet.com, www.flymonarch.com or www.jet2.com, and there are two packages to choose from.

The one week package from Tuesday, June 20 - 27 (which includes seven nights of raving, seven nights of accommodation and free breakfast and dinner each night) costs £199, while the weekend package between Friday, June 23 and Monday, 26 (three nights of raving, three nights of accommodation, plus free breakfast and dinner) is £119.
