On April 30, 1978, Rock Against Racism and the Anti Nazi League hosted a march from Trafalgar Square to an 80,000-strong carnival in Victoria Park, Hackney, featuring now famous performances from The Clash, Jimmy Pursey, X-Ray Spex, Tom Robinson Band and Steel Pulse.

To mark the 30th Anniversary of that seminal day, today’s equivalent of RAR, Love Music Hate Racism, supported by Recorder newspapers/Archant London - is hosting its own modern day Carnival and 30th anniversary show in Victoria Park on April 27, featuring an exciting and eclectic bill of some of the biggest and most relevant acts in the business today, alongside some of the heroes of that original gig and era.
