Lewis lands magnificent seven

LEWIS Clifford-Stephenson won a total of 13 medals, including seven golds, for Killerwhales at the Essex Championships.
The 16-year-old Clifford-Stephenson - a member of the England Youth set-up -won his 50m and 100m freestyle, 200m medley, 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke, and added the open title in the latter to complete his golden haul.
Katinka Merchan, 17, was another to celebrate county titles, winning her 50m and 100m backstroke, while 15-year-old Tom Webb picked up silver in the junior 100m backstroke and added bronze in the 50m backstroke and freestyle.
Molly Sparks, 13, continued her fine form with bronze in the 200m backstroke and Kalei Andrews, 17, won bronze in both the open 400m medley and 200m butterfly.
Killerwhales added further medals in the age group relays, with the 11/12 years boys group of Connor Kearns, Charlie Fox, Kieran Goodwin and Matthew Alexander claiming a fine silver ahead of rivals Romford Town in the 4x50m freestyle event.
Not to be outdone, the 9/10 years squad of Harry Fox, Thomas Weston, Daniel Weston and Ross Walmsley then claimed a bronze medal in their freestyle swim with another determined display.
*HORNCHURCH'S Edward Eastman won his backstroke race in a new personal best at the East London Mini League A final at Dagenham.
Abbie Burrows (butterfly) and Christian Wall (freestyle) also made it onto the podium, while Leigh Gell, James McCaffery, Holly Spooner, Bethan King, Riva Siggins, Anthony Mann and Katie Larbey all set new personal bests.
