A ROMFORD hair stylist can rightfully claim to be a hairdresser to the stars after number one singing sensation Pixie Lott modelled for her.
Kate Miasik, a senior hair designer at the Uppercut Hair Salon in Romford Market Place, reached the finals of the prestigious L'Oreal Colour Trophy earlier this year.
And among the 24-year-old's portfolio were photos of the Brentwood-based Pixie who stormed the charts with her debut single Mama Do in June this year.
Kate, from Romford, said: "I'm always on the lookout for good models, and Pixie was someone I invited along.
"You get to know all about your clients and I remember her saying she had been snapped up by a record label and would be releasing a single."
In the photos the 18-year-old is seen sporting an unconventional frizzy look - a world away from her normal shoulder-length golden locks.
Kate said: "She looked good and really stood out. I could see she was a star in the making.
"She's such a nice girl and she's had a fantastic break. She deserves to do well."
Owner of the Uppercut Hair Group, Trevor Vale, said: "We have a selection of people who come in from the world of sport and media but Pixie is our first client to make it to number one.
"I guess we can say our services are fit for the stars!
