Loads of fun for Brother Bez

 | | Celebrity Appearance: Bez in action at Turnmills, with Shaun Ryder behind him |
Fresh from his surprise success as winner of Celebrity Big Brother, cult legend turned unlikely household name Bez, teams up with his Happy Mondays colleague Shaun Ryder for Get Loaded's first birthday party.
As a result of his Big Brother experience Bez is now more famous than Ryder, the band's singer/songwriter - and that's not bad considering he has only ever been the band's dancer. And, as we know, he can't even do that very well.
He scooped more than £100,000 for his appearance on the show (including a £50,000 first prize) but whether we'll see any "at-home with Bez" photoshoots in OK Magazine remains to be seen.
What we can be sure of is that notorious party animal Bez had one hell of a party when the show concluded on Sunday night. Throughout his time in the house he wanted to leave and almost escaped over the garden wall at one point.
He told his bemused housemates: "I just really fancy going out for the night."
Now he can let his hair down, as he usually does, at the Get Loaded party at Turnmills, east London, next Thursday (February 3).
He and Ryder have been resident DJs throughout the cracking indie-dance monthly's first year, and will be joined in the DJ booth by Mani from Primal Scream, The Beta Band, Clint Boon from Inspiral Carpets and promoter Kav, who played guitar for the Mondays when Ryder reformed the band for Get Loaded In The Park at Clapham Common in August.
And it's certainly been a great 12 months for the Get Loaded crew.
As well as that memorable Mondays reunion - which earned them a Best New Festival award at the UK Festival Awards, 2004 - Kav and Turnmills have hosted An Audience With Tony Wilson, the man who owned the Mondays' record label Factory Records; co-promoted New Year's Eve at Turnmills with The Chemical Brothers and managed to tempt the likes of Wilson, New Order's Peter Hook, Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce from The Smiths, Arthur Baker, Graeme Park, The Farm's Pete Hooton and Keith Mullen, Specials legend Terry Hall and Annie Mac from Radio One.
Doors are 8pm - 3am. For more info go to www.get-loaded.co.uk or www.turnmills.co.uk.
